The idea for the workshop. Ampthill began, fittingly, in a café.
We were working remotely, laptops open, headphones in, when we started chatting to someone nearby. Like many professionals, they loved the buzz of a café but struggled with focus. What they really needed was a space designed for productivity and connection.
That conversation sparked something bigger: Ampthill needed a co-working space.
We’re Rob, Harry, and Tommy, three friends from different industries who believe in the power of meaningful workspaces and local communities.
Our first venture, The Social., showed us how a coffee shop can become much more than a place to grab a flat white. It became a place where connections were made.
Now, the workshop. Ampthill is the next chapter: a purpose-built co-working space where creatives, freelancers, and entrepreneurs can collaborate, focus, and thrive.
Our new co-working space in Ampthill is located in a converted mechanics garage. It used to be a place where things were built, fixed, and fine-tuned.
That same spirit lives on in the workshop. Ampthill, but now we’re building businesses, launching projects, and supporting ideas instead of engines.
The name workshop. honours the building’s roots while reflecting our mission: to create a hands-on, inspiring space full of energy and possibility.
Bedfordshire is full of talented professionals working remotely, yet until now, there hasn’t been a central hub to support them.
